Sample of bulling rules for kids
Rules for kids who are targets:
· Tell a friend, Tell a teacher, and Tell your parents.
· Get an older brother, sister or friend to help you.
· Get a group of friends to help you.
· Stay in safe areas at school where there are plenty of other people. Bullies do not like witnesses.
· Laugh it off, Use Humor, Have a comeback.
· Avoid the bully, walk or run away.
· Offer to help the bully with a subject.
· Ask bully for help on a subject.
· Agree with the bully.
· Use verbal self-defense.
· Ask questions, “Why do you want to hurt my feelings?”
· Ask a witness to report the bully.
· If you are hurt, tell a teacher and ask for it to be written down. Tell your parents.
· If you are scared of being attacked walking home, vary your route, try to leave earlier or later, try to walk with other people who live near you.
· If it is too hard to do in person, write a note to your parents explaining how you feel, or tell someone outside your immediate family, like a grandparent, aunt or uncle and ask them to help you tell your parents.
Rules for kids who often act as bullies:
· Find an adult to talk to about your anger.
· Learn how to calm and handle your anger.
· Ask yourself, “Why am I doing this?”
· Try to stop picking on someone for one day.
· Recognize what you are doing.
· Develop a hobby or skill to help you feel better about yourself.
· Try to get some attention by doing something good.
· Think how you would feel if your were the target.
Rules for Witnesses
· If you see someone else being bullied at your school or neighborhood , please tell someone about it.
· Challenge the Bully.
· Get a group of friends to challenge the bully.
· Include a target in your activities.
· Don’t laugh at the bullies’ put-downs.
· Never join forces with the bully and give them more power.
· Don’t repeat gossip.
· Support a target in private.
· Be a guardian Angel for a target.
